Research by Zurich UK found that one in three (30%) cancer patients have had to draw on their savings to get by because of the impact their diagnosis had on their finances.

- A fifth of cancer patients forced back to work early to afford the cost of living
- 1 in 4 said life was made easier by an income protection or critical illness payout
- A quarter of cancer patients had no financial safety net prior to diagnosis
