New vulnerable customer flag for clients

Coventry for Intermediaries logoCoventry for intermediaries has introduced a new feature to help brokers support their clients who may need extra assistance during their mortgage journey.

The lender has added new functionality to their online application system, MSO. It will give brokers the ability to tell them in real time, with client’s consent, if a little extra help is needed. Because often, life can be complicated, and circumstances can change.

When brokers share any support needs their clients may have, Coventry for intermediaries can update records and provide tailored support.

Guidance on how to do this is available in their Supporting clients with vulnerabilities guide.

Examples of vulnerabilities include:

  • Bereavements
  • Changes in employment circumstances
  • Reduction of income
  • Risk of job loss
  • Relationship breakdown

In the online system, brokers will see a section titled Vulnerable Customer Support, where they can confirm whether a client has been identified as vulnerable and select relevant characteristics or support needs.

This process ensures Coventry for intermediaries can provide the right help when needed. The feature is designed to be simple and easy to use, to help brokers to support their clients.
